Very good Mexican food and the only decent margarita I could find in Orlando! Our waiter was very nice. We could see a bit of the fireworks show at Epcot from our window seat but much was blocked. I recommend eating here.

Hola La hacienda!!! It is so nice! It is so pretty! The food is so great! The wait staff is beautiful! The location is fantastic! I can only imagine having a delicious dinner right before illuminations: reflections of earth. Unfortunately for me, when I was at La Hacienda just the other day, we enjoyed some delicious apps. The taquiza was delish!! Three mini tacos. One plate. SO AMAZING! I can't give it five stars only because I didn't get to try an entree or dessert or tequila bev. I will be back soon!!!

Wow! So I got to partake in a few of the sample foods from the Grand Opening Event of this restaurant in the Mexico Pavilion at Epcot. I'm so glad that the rennovation to the Cantina was made. It's a very interesting re-do of the waterside restaurant. If you are familiar with the old restaurant, the outdoor location was soley quick service. This new quick service/full service restaurant has very unique service. During the day, la Cantina de San Angel is open starting at 11am and you can choose to sit outside or inside. During the evening, beginning at 4pm, the indoor seating becomes a full service restaurant. The outdoor seating will still be available for the Cantina patrons. The indoor atmosphere is grand and appropriately themed with large glass windows to allow view of the world showcase lagoon. The outside area under the pavilion against the water is a superb spot to watch Illuminations. The Hibiscus-water is delicious, tasting like sweet juice. I've never heard of such a drink but talking to one of the managers at the restaurant it is considered their specialty beverage. The plan is to rotate various drinks as the specialty beverage so I'm excited to see all the different concoctions that will be here throughout the year. But definitely try this Hibiscus-water! yummy! I also was able to try several dishes-sausage and chiles (not spicy), cheese empanada, and beef taco (soft shelled taco) and a little potato/beef mixture in a pastry shell (not sure what it was called). Each dish I tried was better than the one before it but overall my favorite was the cheese empanada. The restaurant is available for reservation booking and I encourage you to book reservations as soon as possible. There is limited seating, less than 50 tables I think, and I know that everyone that tries this will enjoy it immensely. The servers there are all very friendly and they are excited for the restaurant to be open. Can't wait to actually have a full meal here!

Best meal we have had on our vacation in Disney. Our wait was appropriate considering how busy they were. Our server was very nice even though he was very busy. We shared the steak and chicken dish for two. Amazing flavored, grilled veggies and a corn side that I have never had before in my life but wish I knew how to make. We were very happy with this choice because it was different. Not your typical Mexican fare. I would definitely eat there again.

This gem in Epcot Center was one of the best places we ate at on our honeymoon in Disney. First off, the environment is insane. The outside looks like this temple, and on the inside they have plenty to do while you wait for your table. There are a bunch of little shops selling stupid little souvenirs, a bar or two, and a very tame water ride. The menu is top-notch Mexican, and like another reviewer mentioned, you won't find any tacos here. For starters my wife had a margarita that consisted of seven layers of flavor, while I stuck with good ol' Tecate. For dinner I had the carne con chili relleno which was amazing. The meat was insanely tender and it had just the right spice where it wasn't overpowering but still gave off a nice heat. My wife had the chicken mole which was mighty tasty. There desserts were nice too as I got a light white mousse with fruit and my wife got the white chocolate bread pudding. The ambiance is beautiful, the food was delicious, and the service was fast and friendly. Hands down one of the best places to eat in Disney.

Love this place. Our favorite by far in Epcot. It is across the street from the Mayan temple and has a super menu. I asked the waitress Stephaine what I could have that was dairy free and she said they could make anything on the menu without dairy by leaving sauces or cheese off, so I just need to look and see what sounded good. She recommend the steak and the talipa as her favorites. So Hubby ordered the steak and I the talipa. While we waited we had chips and salsa the green chilie salsa was AWESOME. Sweet and spicy. My talipa was cooked perfectly and had been lightly brushed with chili spices and was so good. I had a roasted corn and mango salsa also very good. Hubby's steak was delicious, I stole a bite. For dessert hubby ordered the apple turnover with cinnamon ice cream and I had the Strawberry and the Mango Sorbets. The desserts were so huge we couldn't finish them. Great service. As tables would finish and pay, the waitress would clear the tables and the manager was right behind them ready with cleaner and a cloth to clean the tables and chairs. He was very through. I thought it was great that the manager jumped in and helped out. You do need a reservation, so make one in advance or you more than likely will not get in.

By far one of my favorites in Epcot! Be sure to make a reservation in advance. They also have a quick service out front that is excellent as well.

As is often the case with restaurants, there is a strong relationship between ambiance and food quality. The better one is, the lousier the other. This is one of the rare places that does both quite well. The menu is on the small side I imagine to aid Disney in turning the tables and keeping kitchen prep simple. But the quality of the food is consistently quite good and the atmosphere is unique to say the least. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but the loss of a star stems from the price - no matter how you look at it, unless you are using one of the Disney dining options (Dining Plan, Annual Pass, Tables in Wonderland, etc ....) Disney restaurants across the board are pricy. As a tourist on vacation, hey go ahead and splurge. But if you are a local and plan on repeat visits, do yourself a favor and take advantage of one of their plans.

Great Mexican food and killer margaritas. A surprising kick for drinks served at Disney-proceed with caution!! Between La Cava de Tequila and la Hacienda, we tried the pomegranate, jalapeno, rosita, and lime raspberry margaritas-I would recommend all of them. The jalapeno had a little kick to it, but it wasn't too spicy-you just get the flavor of the jalapeno primarily. We had the queso fundido with homemade tortillas-it was delicious, and not terribly greasy like a lot of chorizo dishes can be. Our main course was the La Hacienda mixed grill platter-it was a great choice. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the accompanying sides and sauces were delicious-I'd never seen chorizo "links," but they were probably my favorite thing on the plate. It was a LOT of food-more than enough for two. My one complaint (which is still not enough for me to deduct a star from my rating) is that the apple empenadas on the menu were actually frozen apple turnovers-soooo disappointing after such a wonderful meal! I would definitely want to come back here if we make a return trip to Disney!

I was so hungry and my feet was killing me and my team wanted this cheap Mexican spot with whack food. Determined to find something better I walked further and I saw this super beautiful girl. She was the lady taking reservations in front of this restaurant....i approached and literally I heard a flamenco guitar like in the movies..brrrummm..."Buenas tardes señorita, I am desperatly hungry and I do not have a reservation...por favor mi bella, can you please find a spot so me and my team can enjoy your exquisit food?" She gawked for 2.5 seconds...I gave her the Antonio Banderas accent and everything. She replied, "Si Señor, you name" DON FRANCISCO ahem sorry um Anthony- De la Cruz Ismael Acosta san Pedro de la Duarte - REY. *stomped my feet once* She smiled...this way. The service attention in this restaurant was finer that she was...and she was FINEEEE. The food was amazing along with the margarita which made it heaven. The view outside looking at the water was out of a movie. The waiters pants couldn't be any tighter. I challenged my Spanish I wont lie, trying to say the order more elegant than them. *CLAP CLAP* "Hay Hambre!" I recommend this place to All couples their food and service is excellent.!!

Brand spanking new restaurant in EPCOT in Mexico. The food is authentic, artistic, and delicious. The waitstaff is attentive and the service is quick. Make your reservation for 8:00ish and ask to sit by the big bay windows overlooking the world showcase lagoon. You will be rewarded for your efforts with being able to watch the entire Illuminations show (the music for it is played throughout the restaurant) from the comfort of your seat with your dessert spoon in hand. And for me, please order the chocolate dessert. It's heaven in a bowl.

This place is on the lake overlooking ILLUMINATIONS, my wife made reservations months in advance so that we would get good seats with our good eats for the show on the water. We were told by Disney to show up a bit before our seating time to request a table by the window. Well....that didn't work out! We were told that the window seats were given out already, not by guests who booked months ahead, but by guests who roamed by that day. The manager is a gentleman, listened, and sat us at a table where I saw virtually none of Illuminations, a d my wife saw half. As we were being seated, we noted that there were two tables vacant right against the window. We were told that those were already given out. A minute after we took our seats, a woman with two kids was led to a similar table to ours. The woman asked the waiter for the window seat, he told her that it was taken. She told him that she wanted the table...and she got it...bam! As we ate, drank, and ran up a 150 dollar tab, the we watched the woman who walked in and demanded the prime table have a cocktail, a milkshake for each of the two children, and a basket of nachos! Here's my warning: Don't come here for the food...it's ok, but there are much better restaurants here: Italy, Norway, Canada, Morocco, Japan....get the point? If you want to enjoy illuminations, don't count on it here. So...why come? Don't know?

Came for dinner when we couldn't get a seat at the San Angel Inn (99.9% of the time, I make no plans in advance). We were a group of three, and ordered one of everything on the entree menu (There are snack foods/kids menu and desserts available also) *Vegetarian Empanadas stuffed with cheese and chiles *Tacos de Carne *Tacos de pollo *Churros with Caramel milk sauce The funny thing was, there is three of each item, and three of us, so sharing worked perfectly. We got a table right in a corner on the water even though it was crowded. I noticed as it got more crowded they had people handling seating rather than the usual quick service free for all. Everything was very fresh and good, and they had an assortment of salsas, all of which were good (nothing tasted canned etc). Price with drinks and AP discount was about $50, but worth it at dinner for sure. Will go again.

Worst food for the price. PERIOD. Never so dissappointed with an experience at any Disney park like this! While service was great, prompt, and friendly... nothing will ever let me get past this food, and I am honestly put off by the idea of dining inside Epcot again. I'll stick with AK. We both got .. shrimp tacos essentially. HAHA.. 25 dollars a meal later...and what seemed like a horrible joke.. we wanted to cried. It was like Disney had just given us the finger. Those 4 tacos were nothing more than 4 maggot sized, fried shrimp per baby totilla that had been frozen than reheated. It was covered in red cabbage, which I expected to be cooked I guess, and was not, and alittle sauce smeared around. It came with a side of rice and beans.. which they only gave us one serving, and should have been two, as we paid for two meals. I really and truely could have gotten better at Taco Bell. Nothing authentic about it. My Boyfriend is hispanic, and I come from a family of shrimpers... so all around, this was an easy judgement. Great view, great atmosphere, but not worth 80 bucks after tip for that terrible food.

Nice Mexican food with good service. We had the Del Mar (seafood) for 2 as well as chicken. While e waited more than 40 minutes for our seats despite making a reservation, we were given good seats next to the window. Good view of the Epcot center lake and the fireworks at 9.30pm.

We've been to this place a few times over the years and food is what you'd expect from a quick service Mexican place. It's not terrible but nowhere near moes or qudoba. The chirps are always dry as dry as a rock.

  • Kevin T.

Bad start. Make you wait in a huge line outside even with a reservation. Then waited 30 minutes past reservation time. Poorly organized. Very unDisney. Seated with good view of lagoon. Was ready to put the poor start behind. Great Margarita!!!! From there, continued downhill. Poor service. Average food. Way overpriced but you know that going in. They would have let us linger from 7pm reservations for the fireworks but we were ready to get out of there. I recommend trying somewhere else at Epcot for dinner. Stop in here for a margarita.

Not your typical 'enchiladas, tacos, and burritos' Mexican restaurant. The menu is small and boasts none of the traditional "Americanized" Mexican fare we are used to. The salsa was kind of bland and thin - I like CHUNKY salsa. We ordered one of the meals for two (the name is escaping me, but it had chicken, chorizo, NY strip steak, veggies, corn, rice, beans....) and WOW we were shocked at how much food we were given! There was no way we could eat it all yet when our eyes widened from how much food was presented to us, our waitress (who was wonderful, btw) told us that sometimes single people order it and eat the entire thing by themselves! Only in fat America..... The steak was tender and cooked perfectly. The chicken was juicy and delicious. Neither of us are fans of chorizo but I suppose it was okay. I would return.

First off, don't expect normal traditional Mexican food. Very limited menu, and no burritos, tacos, enchiladas, tostadas or chimichangas! Also VERY expensive. Made reservation months ahead of our vist to ensure good fireworks viewing. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant even though we asked for a window. The place was not even full, and there were empty tables with much better views then we had. This was our 8th visit to WDW and were very disappointed.

Was here on my visit to Epcot last week and the place is very nice. With great picture windows request a table by the water to see the Illuminations show at night on Epcot. The food was very good and authentic. Service was excellent. One thing keep it from a five star for its price. The waiter brought the wrong dessert to the table. A fair price for a good meal. Enjoy.

This was the only disappointing dining experience I had in Epcot. Pros: we requested a seat with a water/fireworks view (ask ahead of time!) and could see the show pretty well. We ordered two margaritas (the classic and orange mango fire) and both were good. We split the parrillada del mar and it was more than enough food for the two of us. We did have leftovers - if you asked for extra tortillas, you could probably split this with three people. At $50, that might be a good option for groups of 3. Besides that, my favorite part was definitely the restaurant itself. It's beautiful inside with very large windows by the water. The more expensive, sit-down restaurants are absolutely worth it in Epcot because they are such a well-needed break from all the chaos and noise outside. Cons: We had a pretty bad experience that was handled incredibly poorly, in my opinion. Working in food service myself, I really try to cut servers some slack, but wow. After sitting down, before getting our food or drinks, a kid ran by my boyfriend and projectile vomited on his back and chair. Obviously, not the restaurant's fault. But what was the restaurant's fault was that we had to stand next to our table for at least 5 minutes before anyone tried to move our table, switch the barfed-on chair, ask if we needed anything, or even begin to clean everything up. Finally a manager moved us to another table. After moving, we got our chips, drinks, and dinner all very quickly and all at pretty much the same time. Not a problem for us, but some people might not like getting the dinner at the same time as their drinks and starters. Our server dropped our food off and basically disappeared. I think they all know people stick around for the light show (we sat down around 7:45) so he just decided not to stop by until 9:00 to drop our check off. My water was empty, nobody asked how the food was...not impressed. Of course I know the unusual circumstances of our dinner are, well, unusual, and that the restaurant has no control over things like that, I do expect that in a restaurant where dinner, no appetizer and two drinks racks up a $100 check with tip for two people, that something like that can be handled a little better. Nobody really even acknowledged that our dinner had kind of been ruined by one of us being literally vomited on. Standing around next to a dirty table holding your vomit-covered jacket out from you while nobody offers to help isn't the greatest experience and I really did expect better service or free dessert or something. At most Disney restaurants, the staff really bends over backwards to make sure you are happy with absolutely everything. Lastly...while the food was good, it wasn't great, and nothing wowed me. The salsas with the free chips were average at best and I was a little overwhelmed with the flavors in all the seafood. It was not bad. But if I had the choice to go back or pick another restaurant for $30-40 per person...I would not even consider returning. That is too much money to spend for a very average experience. Maybe it was just a bad night - I have always received really, really amazing service in all of the other Disney restaurants I have visited - really exceptional even, which is why this one stands out so strongly to me.

Everything about this restaurant in my opinion is amazing. The decor, the service, the food and the view. I don't think I could pick one thing I liked the most about this place. When I ate here it was during the soft open so they weren't taking reservations. We arrived around 8 and were told the wait would be about 30-40 minutes, which was acceptable. My wife sat down, I started to sit down but before I touched the cushion they called our name. The wait in reality was 1 maybe 2 minutes. Everyone was very courteous and several people even apologized for the wait. We were immediately seated in a booth. The seating in the restaurant was designed so that not one person in the main dining area had their back to the windows and a view of the lagoon. Our waitress was incredibly quick and very nice. She brought out the chef to consult with our allergies. There were so many things I wanted to try that we pretty much asked about all of the items on the menu. They were both very patient with us. In the end we ordered an appetizer, 2 entrée and she even consulted on dessert with us before heading back to prepare our food. All of the food that we had was delicious. The chips and salsa that they bring out was pretty good. We tried the Botana appetizer which is a trio of items, we assumed for the price it would be maybe like 2 pieces of each item. But it was really an appetizer for one, one of each item. For our entrée, we ordered a mixed grill plate for 2 and a plate of shrimp tacos. They were both pretty good, nice flavors. All the entrée come with I guess all you can eat rice and beans. The churros for dessert looked pretty good. I particularly enjoyed their margaritas, they aren't too strong but sure are tasty. The view is fantastic. Especially if you stay for Illuminations. They turn down the lights and pipe the music in through the speakers. I've seen Illuminations from several different places around the Lagoon, but nothing beats watching it from a booth with a drink in my hand and not having to worry about anyone blocking my view. The staff here was incredible throughout the whole evening. They were very friendly and took care of every request quickly. My plate came out with cheese on it but they took care of it quickly. After we were done eating several people came around asking if we enjoyed the food. You get the feeling that they genuinely take pride in their service and their food here.

Consistently amazing. Service is always warm and friendly, the atmosphere is inviting, the drinks are tequila-tastic, and the food is so good it hurts. The tacos, mole, and shared plates are terrific. This is another place I could just live at -- thank goodness it's a 2-h drive away.

Had an exceptional experience at La Hacienda de San Angel this February. Get a reservation for 1 hour before Illuminiations and then ask the hostess to seat you by the windows. It will be the worth the wait. The music is piped into the room and the lights are darkened making it a perfect place to watch the fireworks. Considering you are getting an excellent meal and a show, the value is very good! Rizwan was even treated to Mexican Happy Birthday shower. I don't remember what we ordered (mole?), but it was good!!

Great Mexican food at Epcot. I had the tilapia and my wife had the shrimp tacos. We both loved them. Atmosphere was great as was the view overlooking the lake. I would recommend to any one dining @ Disney.

I am pretty lucky my mom in law is a DVC member who likes to share her points because it allows me to go to Disney World every few years. This past trip we had to try the new Mexican place at Epcot. I would love to tell you it's amazing but if you live in Los Angeles where you are only finger tips away from amazing Mexican food than this place is gonna disappoint. However if you are from Chicago like my brother and his wife you will probably think this place is awesome and a lot better than ChiChi's. But alas, this is my review. There is no doubt this is a beautiful restaurant with a friendly, accommodating staff (they took care to make sure my nephew's peanut allergy restrictions were adhered to) and great service. However, the food was just okay and the meat was a little dry for our taste. Hubby and I ordered one of the dinners made for two. It came sizzling out on a platter and contained chicken, asada, sausages and chorizo. Along with the meat were vegetables and of course as many flour and corn tortillas as you want. It wasn't like the food was horrible, it wasn't it just when you your used to getting really good Mexican in LA and trying some massed produced Mexican, it just isn't that good. This place was like Chi-Chi's for me, average.

We started out a little disappointed because we thought we had the one by the restaurant. This is a new restaurant and first they sat us away from the window where we could not see reflections they were nice enough to move us and the view was great. Me and my husband ate the two people meal the la hacienda it was very good more than enough food.they were very accomadating with the kids menu and the avacodo margarita was delicious. Great choice for the meal plan.

First off, I've always wanted to try this place since I was 5 years old or so. The inside is just so cool and after walking through the "outdoor" market, you feel like you're in a little Mexican restaurant. Also, I must preface this by saying that the girlfriend and I were wasted, as we can just nearly completed the Drinking Around the World Challenge and that may have made the food taste better. The service was decent, but a little standoffish. I'm not even sure that the waiter said goodbye or thank you as he dropped off our bill. I had the fish tacos, which were REALLY good and I forget what the GF had. Honestly, I forget much of the meal, but from what I remember it was just the stuff to provide a layer of protection against the booze ravishing my body. I'd like to go back sometime and try it again.

La Hacienda is now one of my favorite restaurants in Disney World, we were here on opening day, and have been back 3 additional times. Every time we go the atmosphere, food and service have been amazing! I can't recommend the top sirloin enough - its simply awesome. Wife and i love this place as it has a great view of the lake and it you time it right you can see Illuminations.

Went here twice during our 5 day stay in Disney. All I can say is the food and Margarita's are excellent. Had the " La Hacienda" meal for two both times. Which includes steak, chicken, and chorizo. Also comes with sides of mexican corn, black beans, and rice. Son had the taco trio both times as well barely got to try a bite he said it was excellent. A little bit more expensive but well worth the price. Service was also top notch both times. Highly recommend making reservations ahead of time.

I dined at La Hacienda de San Angel in May 2011 with my 9-year old son. Excellent all the way around. The owner is from Mexico and the menu and solid waitstaff reflect his desire to provide diners with an authentic dining experience. The host and owner were kind & friendly. Our waitress could not have been better -- we asked for guacamole (not on the menu) and she happily brought us a huge dish to go with our Queso Fundido. The portions are huge. My son had the appetizer - Taquiza Taco trio -- as his main course -- the individual tacos were beautiful as they were tasty. He only finished one! I had the Tacos de Camarones and was over-the-top pleased. The best part is that you can watch the nightly Illuminations Fireworks show while dining. So nice to be dining on a delicious meal while watching the show (rather than trying to stake a claim on the grass in World Showcase and waiting 2 hours for the show to begin.) Disney has to feed a lot of people, and I know that consistency and quality can be difficult to achieve when feeding so many. La Hacienda de San Angel has succeeded in this area and I wish it much success in the future.

I'm a repeat visitor to La Hacienda de San Angel, and there's a reason for that: the food is really good! It's more of a high end Mexican restaurant (don't expect your standard burritos and enchiladas here), and the prices definitely reflect that (plus it's Disney!), but it's a wonderful choice for dinner in the World Showcase. La Hacienda also boasts excellent views for Illuminations, Epcot's fantastic fireworks show. If you're lucky, you will be seated near a window, but there are windows across the entire restaurant, so you should have a decent view regardless. I've tried several margaritas off the menu, and enjoyed them all, from the Mango Blueberry Basil, to the Orange Mango Fire and the Rosita. Tortilla chips and two salsas begin your meal, and black beans and rice are also provided with your entrees. The shrimp tacos are super popular and delicious, but I also have enjoyed the tilapia dish as well as the Carnitas. Honestly, I've never been able to finish a meal here because I always get full, so in the future I'd consider sharing an appetizer and entree to ensure food doesn't go to waste (especially since it's so expensive). In any case, I highly recommend dinner at La Hacienda de San Angel (it's not open for lunch) if you're visiting Epcot. I plan to return yet again :)

Beautiful, intimate spot for a nice dinner in Epcot. We had a wonderful time and we rode the Three Caballeros ride also. The Mexican steak dinner combo that includes the fish taco is fantastic. BONUS: Free chips and salsa and a kind wait staff also.

Service was wonderful - we actually had the nerve to tell them the table they chose for us was not really ok and they moved us. We had the guacamole and split shrimp tacos and had two margaritas. The spicy margarita - orange mango fire was awesome. The blueberry mango was wonderful as well! I am so glad we split a entree! It was a great end to our day at Epcot! Don't forget to go on the boat ride at the Mexican place across the street!

Being from Phoenix, AZ, I am no stranger to excellent Mexican food. I am surprised to say that the food here was also excellent! I think the best part is the atmosphere. When in Epcot go to the Mexico pavilion and see for yourself.

Was here on a date night with my husband while on a family Disney vacation. Our waitress was new and many things were incorrect including how we paid. We used dining credits and I had a Disney rewards card I wished to use for the alcohol and tip not covered by the dining plan. These charges ended up being charged to our room. Food was just okay, nothing to really write home about.

Checked in. Waited about 5 minutes... Food was great! Ordered a steak with chilaquiles. Steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare) just how I like it, they were a little stingy on the chilaquiles... But I guess I just eat a lot... Haha. Waiter was awesome! Ambience was awesome! Food came out in like 10min... Super fast... Loved it!

Ole! Excellent food and a great escape from the typical Florida weather with exquisite table service, prompt attention, yummy & delicious Mexican cuisine, and a truly amazing backdrop which heightens any food lovers experience. Enjoy carnitas (tacos de carne) and a glass of cerveza with Mayan ruins and lush jungles illuminated under the stars. Enjoy the amazing menu selections and authentic Mexican dishes with a touch of American flare. Yums!

We made reservations at 8pm so that we can enjoy a sit down dinner and then watch the Illuminations show during dessert. Their restaurant placement is perfect and they dim the lights and pipe in music to correspond with the show. Our server was attentive even though we had to send the food back for being under cooked (I'm 5 1/2 months prego) but they were very accommodating. What we swallowed: The Canadian was very pleased with his margaritas and I'll take his word for it 'cuz he ordered another one within minutes. lol APPETIZER (Forgot the name, see picture): This appetizer was very tasty. The meat was well seasoned and the sauce that came with it was very complimentary. yelp.com/biz_photos/la-h… LA HACIENDA DE PARRILLADA: This was a plentiful but very tasty dish. It came with grilled chicken al pastor, flank steak, chorizo and vegetables. Very tasty and didn't look like a lot of food but we couldn't finish it all. The rice and beans were very tasty. Definitely needed more tortillas to finish the best we can but we were very pleased with this dish. yelp.com/biz_photos/la-h… We were glad we were able to enjoy our meal and then watch the fireworks. I just wish we ordered dessert while watching the fireworks show.

This is and always has been one of my fave Disney restaurants. Great real Mexican food "Love the Cearny Asada" great staff and love the atmosphere and when the kids get fussy just stick them on the boat ride while u relax

Food was pretty good but our server seemed distracted. Great place to watch the fireworks from so if you can wait ask for a table by the back windows.

I was a little skeptical of the menu -- very limited choices. But the food was very good overall. My wife and I shared two dishes. The braised short ribs were excellent. The fish was quite good too. The queso fundido though was a gloppy mess of an appetizer. The cheese coagulated before we had time to enjoy it. Also, it would've been nice to been offered chips and dip. It wasn't on the menu and it wasn't brought over to our table. Only when we were done did we see others get it. Also, not a lot of kid friendly choices on the regular menu but they allowed our 12 year old to order off the kids menu. Nice! But overall, we enjoyed the meal here.

Maybe I'm the weird one here, but this is a new favorite of mine in Disney. While I prefer the intimacy and feel of San Angel Inn, this one's food is right up my alley. I tried a rosita margarita - a hibiscus margarita with a pink himalayan sea salt rim. It was really yummy - strong, not too sweet, and a bit tangy. My husband's orange lava margarita had really awesome ancho chile powder, but the orange juice they use is canned stuff or something and really ruined the drink. We ordered two appetizers - the Camarones a la Parrilla (grilled shrimp with pineapple) and the Queso Fundido. The shrimp here are amazing - they are big, well seasoned, and a good quality. We only got four in the appetizer, but they were yummy. They paired OK with the pineapple - it wasn't an amazing pairing, but the two things were really good on their own. The queso fundido was amazing - the peppers were really a nice smokey/spicy complement to the cheese and it came with warm tortillas. For a meal, my husband and I split the Crema de Elote and the Taquiza, whiel my in-laws shared the Parrillada Del Mar. Our crema de Elote (creamy corn soup) was downright amazing and I want to come back for that. SO YUMMY! Creamy, sweet, and served with crispy tortilla strips. The Taquiza (taco trio) was good - there was a best (the pork), a good (the chicken), and a just OK (the beef). The pork was well seasoned, a bit spicy, and plain yummy. The chicken was well cooked with a good sauce. The beef was bland and overcooked. The parrillada was HUGE. It's more for 3-4 people in my opinion. The 4 of us all ate some. They got extra shrimp in place of scallops, which was great for me because I got tons of shrimp. There were easily 18-20 shrimp on the thing. The fish was good too - a really nice quality and very flaky and light. It came with tons of warm tortillas and sides like corn (really good - some lime and sour cream was mixed in giving it a great flavor) and beans and rice. This is a good Epcot find, especially if you get to sit by a window. It's a little less crowded than some other faves like Le Cellier, so you can get in without reservations or still get reservations close to the date (like within a few days).

Good food, decent prices considering theme park gouging. GREAT PLACE TO WATCH ILLUMINATIONS SHOW. They turn down the lights and music is played in the restaurant. Get reservations close to show time and ask for seats close to windows. Del Mar plate is what I'd recommend. Portions are plenty for 2-3 people. Hacienda plate was really good too but thought seafood was better. We didn't love the queso fundido (unlike many other yelpers). It was thick, sorta solidified cheese. Enh. Beef short rib was so-so. Easy skip. Bottom line though, I would only eat here if I was planning on watching the show.

A wonderful location for you and a loved one if you're trying to catch Illuminations while having a great meal. I've ate here once before but, it was when I was younger. I was trying to find a dinner reservation for Valentine's Day two days before and this was the one(7:10 pm reservation) I thought she would like to have dinner at. We showed up 15 mins before our reservation time and we were called up for our table within 5-10 mins of waiting. That is the quickest I've ever had a to wait for a table. NOTE: Don't ask to be seated by a window, mostly all the seats give you a great view of the Lagoon. Our server was a great guy by the name of Edward. I recommend him if you ever go there to eat. He was quick, kind and courteous not to mention he had a smile the whole time he was helping our table and every other table in his section. We ordered our appetizer and meal at the same time because we had a FASTPASS between 7:30-8:30 and we didn't want to miss it. We got our appetizer within 10-15 minutes of ordering it. Again, this was the quickest service I've ever had at Disney. The Queso Fundido was pretty good. I would give it a 9.5 out of 10 only cause it didn't feel like it was made fresh but we were so hungry we devoured it. Our meal came out 15-20 minutes later. We had ordered "La Hacienda" and let me tell you, it was HUGE!!! "La Hacienda" comes with, Mixed grill offering New York strip, chicken al pastor, chorizo and vegetables, served with beans and fresh salsas. The meal was very filling. As a matter of fact, we ended up taking most of it home with us. Overall, I think this is a great location if you're looking for dinner and a show. NOTE: I don't know about all the people that complain about this place. Before you make your reservations or go inside there's menus outside.

Not a big fan of Epcot, but this restaurant was excellent. The Horchata Margarita drink was outstanding! $13.50, but it hit the spot. The NY Steak was fine, $32.00. I would go back if I am ever at Epcot Center again. Hector S. was our waiter and was fast, efficient, and friendly.

I wanted to like this restaurant so much. The view is gorgeous and the drinks are good (albeit, the same ones you can get inside at Cava Del Tequila). The unfortunate parts- the service leaves MUCH to be desired. Our server bordered on rude. The food is okay- not great but certainly not awful but the prices are stupid. $4.50 for a side of rice and $3.50 for a side of beans seems exorbitant. I would've happily paid more (this is Disney pricing) had the food been fresh and hot. Sadly, it was not.

Not sure why anyone would rate this less than 3 stars. This place is kid friendly and great atmosphere. It kept us out of the heat and was tasty. A good break from chicken fingers and fries. I rated it 4 stars because it could have been more authentic, but then again, kids would have complained:).

We went for my birthday, normally Disney recommends reservations, although they were able to accommodate to us on short notice. The view from our table was amazing, and the restaurant was clean and well staffed. Our host seated us and placed our napkins in our lap - nice touch! The fresh margaritas on the rocks and dos Equis were delish! We ordered the taco appetizer and corn creama soup- so delish!!!! For dinner I had the shrimp tacos which are a popular item at the Food and Wine Festival, the rest of our party shared the Hacienda meal- all the food was fresh, innovative, and most importantly, delicious. I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. Since it was my birthday, and my party let them know, they served dolce de leche ice cream with warm Churro Mickey ears for dessert. I will be back soon as I am dreaming of this delicious cuisine!

This turned out to be one of our better ventures in attempting to eat our way across World Showcase. We made reservations in advance, so only had to wait a few minutes before being seated. The chips and salsa proved to be the same as at the San Angel Inn, but the chips container proved to be a lot smaller. They brought out rice and beans in separate bowls for the table to share rather than a serving on each place, which worked well for us, since B. dislikes rice and black beans dislike me. I had the chicken with the pineapple relish, which was amazingly flavorful. Again, a chef was brought out to discuss allergies. I admire Disney's attention to detail in regards to guest safety!

Service was very good but this is of course inside Epcot. Food was as authentic as you can get when you are in a theme park. Huge waiting time as everyone inside the park has to eat so either eat early or late but always make a reservation. I would suggest eating outside Epcot if you can as I am sure there are better and cheaper place to spend your hard earn money. However if you don't want to run out before you fully enjoy Epcot, then it is worth the visit.

Great food great setting. I had the Carne Asada. It was prepared perfectly and paired well with rice beans and a cheese tortilla/enchilada. Had the classic margarita, it was great too.

La Hacienda de San Angel has two things going for it. #1 is the cocktails. The drinks are well prepared and strong, as long as you don't get the 'blended' drinks that come out of a slushy machine. #2 is the view of the fireworks show. The food is HORRIBLE. There is nothing 'Authentic' about the Mexican food served here. It is bland, flavorless, and 3 people in my group got food poisoning from it. They ate the quesadilla, rice, beans, chips and salsa. I have traveled extensively throughout Central America and South America. I also live in California where Authentic Mexican food can be found in every city and town. I have a very good concept of what real Latin food should taste like...La Hacienda de San Angel's Mexican food is just BAD. I ordered some type of combo plate with chorizo, steak, chicken and vegetables. The chorizo looked like dried out cocktail weenies and did not taste like fresh or traditional chorizo (I'm convinced they were cocktail weenies). The chicken was dry with some type of a sweet glaze on the outside, that was not good, and the steak was completely flavorless. The tortilla chips are not fresh, they're unsalted and they're out of a bag. The salsa is the equivalent of watery tomato paste. The "spicy" salsa is nothing more than canned salsa verde, with no spiciness whatsoever. Pepper has more spice than anything this restaurant served. My guess is they make it soooooo bland due to the 'special' diets of all the morbidly obese people that are at their theme parks Leave it to Disney to screw up something as simple as Mexican food. Disney is great at taking things people like and making them bland and disgusting...just check out one of their character breakfasts and you'll see. Whatever you do, don't come to La Hacienda de San Angel unless it's just for drinks and the fireworks show.

I ate here yesterday and it was so good! I loved the food! I had the carnitas and they were absolutely delicious ! The waiters there were so nice too! It was my sisters birthday and she had requested a window seat in order to see the fireworks and they were very nice about it and had a table for seven set up in under 10 minutes. Will be returning soon.

I was hesitant to try this place because it is expensive and although I love the ambiance of San Angel Inn, inside the Mexico Pavilion, I've never been impressed with the food. Well, this restaurant doesn't have the cool ambiance of its Mexico Pavilion counterpart, but the food is way better in my humble opinion. We ordered the short ribs, which were excellent and served on top of really creamy potatoes. We also ordered a dinner for two that came with steak, chicken, chorizo, rice, and beans. This could easily feed three. The steak was the best part. My favorite thing though was the corn soup. They bring out the bowl with corn, tortilla strips, and hot sauce in the bowl, then they pour the creamy soup over top of it. It was really good. I would go here just for the soup!

Great place to view Illuminations and good food! I have to be honest. The only reason we chose to eat at this place was because I read it was a good place to watch Illuminations. Therefore, I made 9 p.m. reservations in anticipation for the 9:30 p.m. show. I'm glad we got there at about 8:40 p.m., because it took 10 minutes to stand in line to even let them know we were there. However, once we did, our buzzer rang almost immediately and we were seated. The huge bay windows makes sure that almost every table has a great view (and I say almost just in case there is some table I did not see that has a bad view). Therefore, it is rather useless to ask for a good table, since conceivably everyone there chose the place to watch Illuminations. We didn't say a thing about that and got a table only one table away from the window. It is surprising that there were empty tables. At 8 p.m. there were already people sitting by the railings for a good spot to watch Illuminations whereas I got to eat a delicious meal, not wait at all, and had a fantastic view of Illuminations. In regards to the food, it is definitely pricey (about $25 per entree), but that is in line with the other Epcot sit down restaurants. Again, this is Disney, so what do you expect. At least they bring out complimentary chips and salsa. I got the tilapia and my fiance just stuck with the appetizer of three tacos. I think the tacos make a great entree and with the chips and salsa he was stuffed. He loved his tacos. The tilapia was huge! I ate half for dinner last night and half for dinner tonight. The rice it came with was good, but kind of hard. I loved the vegetables that came with the dish. Overall I was a huge fan. It did take a little while to get our food. We ordered at about 9 p.m. and got our food at 9:25 p.m. I was pretty hungry so it seemed longer! I think this is a great place to come to at Epcot. For people not staying long, this would be one of my first suggestions.

I was pleasantly surprised at the food. Let's face it, even though it's a sit down restaurant, it's still Epcot and it's still park food. I got the red snapper and I loved it, it was so good, the corn side that came with it was creamy and just to die for. The snapper was grilled and delicious, it also came with tortillas, rice and beans. We split the entree and it was plenty. We don't eat much at one sitting. Will definitely recommend.

Thought we made the reservation for the restaurant inside the Fiesta ride. The "San Angels" is very confusing for reservations. The atmosphere is nice and the service friendly. The menu is very small and pricey! The kids had a hard time finding something they would like to eat. The margaritas are great and chips and salsa are complimentary. The fondito has great flavor but hardens fast. I would say the salad, taquizas and carnitas were ok. Did not get pass holder discount here which was a big disappointment.

We were told to grab a reservation here around the time of the fireworks as it has a great view, we were not disappointed... The servers were fantastic and actually moved us about 15 minutes into our meal so we had a better vantage point to see the fireworks - this was especially nice as we had our 9 and 10 year old daughters with and being able to see was a priority. Service, check, atmosphere (awesome view of the fireworks) check, price, its Disney... and finally the food, check... We were all really surprised with the food offering. We thought it was going to be a traditional "theme park" frozen entrée that is covered with sauce and you pay 4 star prices for, not the case at all. The food was more of an authentic style that would be common to the country and it was tasty. Our waitress gave us some good explanations of what we were eating as it was what she grew up eating, an extra treat! Between all of us we had a pretty wide variety of what was on the menu and nobody was disappointed, we shared extensively! We even stuck around for dessert which was fantastic as well... overall this was a great place to dine and the fireworks put it over the top! Give it a try!

I and my fiancé went to La Hacienda de San Angel we had a great meal with a great waitress. My fiancé had their short rib dish and I had their pork dish. They were both great meals. Our dessert was an apple empanadas. Our meals were great and we would definitely go back there again. They are accommodate food allergies. I have to say if you didn't have a chance to eat here it's definitely worth it. This is authentic Mexican food and you won't regret it. I have to say that we felt welcome and we had help figuring out our meals we were going to have during our time at La Hacienda de San Angel.

I was very unhappy that we chose this as one of our sit down meals on our Disney Food Plan. There are only 5 entrees, and if you don't care for seafood, you're pretty much out of luck. And if you're looking for traditional Mexican fare, look elsewhere. As for the food itself, it lacked flavor. The fundito was okay, the salsas could have been bought at any supermarket, and my children' s chicken quesadillas went uneaten. Needless to say, I will never be back.

Fabulous food and service! It's been awhile since I was somewhere with authentic Mexican food, and this did not disappoint. My husband and I shared a platter meant for two and everything on it was amazing - chicken, steak, chorizo and vegetables. The margaritas were very good, too!

Ok I debated between an 3 and 4 star review here. Let's call it 3.5. We dined at La Hacienda on our recent trip to Disney World and I was really excited about it because I LOVE Mexican cuisine. I made my reservation at the 180 day mark. When we arrived everyone with reservations were being told there would be a bit of a wait. I don't mind a small wait when I have a reservation but they were telling people 30-45 minutes. In fact since our daughter had fallen asleep in her stroller we were told that our wait unless we wanted to wake her up (which we did not) would probably be an hour and a half or more. Now let me add that I was actually not that upset by waiting a while to eat if it meant I didn't have to wake a sleeping kid and since we were on the Deluxe dining plan we were not starving so it was actually ok but under normal circumstances waiting just the 30-45 minutes past a reservation time is not ideal. If I had been hungry that would have been a very unwelcome wait. I know reservations don't always guarantee immediate seating but that long of a wait shouldn't happen. Sounds like whoever manages their reservations needs a little refresher course in reservation management. Ok so on to the food we ordered the taco trio and the queso fundido for our appetizers. The tacos were really good we actually really enjoyed them. The queso was very different than queso fundido I had ever had before. Instead of the cheese being liquidy like a sauce it was basically like melted cheese shreds so eating it was kind of a challenge. I basically had to cut chunks of it and put it in the tortillas and eat it like a quesadilla. It was pretty good but nothing like I was expecting. For the entree we decided to share the La Hacienda for two instead of each ordering separate meals. It had steak, chicken, and chorizo sausage and then sides including a roasted vegetable medley, a corn that had a sour cream and cheese type sauce, black beans, and I believe rice also. It was a TON of food and we couldn't finish much of it but the corn was fantastic. The chicken was moist and flavorful and the sausage was spicy and yummy. We had a nice view of the fireworks that happen nightly over the lake. Over all it was a nice meal and pretty good. I'd eat here again on a future trip but I'd hope the reservations would get us seated a little quicker.

Yes, the atmosphere rocks. It is inside the Mexico pavilion at Epcot and is designed to simulate the evening at dusk. It overlooks the Mexico boat ride, so you wine watching the indoor boats float on. The food is actually good. I tried the mahi mahi veracruzana, fresh fish with tasty, aromatic vegetables. The chips and salsa are free flowing and addictive. The carne asada is perfectly executed. So why 3 stars? I know it is Disney but the prices were ridiculous. About every meal is $25pp. Being a Californian, I cannot wrap my head around that for Mexican food.

  • Gerald H.

The wait even with a reservation was minimal but the hostess didn't seem too happy. I sat down and ordered a glass of wine. It was slow so I also ordered the braised short ribs. The ribs came before my wine! The total assemble that came with the ribs (beans and rice) was great. The ribs was a little dry but enjoyable. It's an okay place to eat. #epcot

I was looking forward to having my birthday at this restaurant. We arrived a bit early but were seated within 5 minutes. Our waitress, Paola was slow and didn't seem to understand us very well or pretended not to understand well. We ordered... Rosita Margarita - Rosewater margarita which was delicious. It was blended and as I couldn't drink it fast enough, it was melting out of the cup. Orange Mango Margarita - pretty good. Sweet Corn Soup - it was so salty that we couldn't eat it. When we told Paola, she pretended not to understand us. Pescado as Tallapia - pretty good. Pollo al Pastor - bland chicken breast drowning in sweet water. It was so bad that I was nauseated after one bite. The only thing I liked about this place was the drinks. The food is horrible!!! As a proud Californian that knows Mexican food, this can't pass as Mexican anything! If you're really hungry and want Mexican at Epcot, go into the Pyramid and eat at the restaurant there.

It's Disney and I get that you will pay a premium at any restaurant... But this was probably the worst Mexican food I have ever had. An overall disappointing experience. Server was not very pleasant. The quick service Mexican food was a million times better and a fraction of the price. The view of the world showcase is very nice. That being said , couldn't wait to get out of this place.

After a day of heavier than expected eating at the food and wine festival, a light dinner was in order. We came to La Hacienda de San Angel and were seated close to our reservation time. Our server, Jesus took care of us. He lacked the typical happy and energetic Disney personality, but he got the job done. For starters we enjoyed the Queso Fundido with Chorizo- very tasty. The chips and salsa soon followed. I recommend asking for a side of guacamole as that was a real crowd pleaser. For my meal, I went with a taquito trio (appetizer) while my lady got the beef brisket. Both were good, but not the most memorable dinners we had. We were both too stuffed to enjoy any dessert. The apple empanadas looked really good though. The place itself was nice and probably is ideal for evening dining during the firework show. We were not fortunate enough to get a seat close to the window or get a table late in the evening. The sister restaurant, La Hacienda Inn offers a nice atmosphere under the (man made) stars. It is the restaurant that you see when you go on the boat ride through Mexico. If we were to do it again, I think we would prefer to book our dinners there.

Just okay. We were on the Deluxe Dining plan. It was not my favorite Mexican restaurant. Just meh. Pros: - Nice interior - Great service - Okay food Cons: - Too overdone for Mexican food, but not very sophisticated - Salsa just meh - Margaritas are way too loaded with fake mixer crap - not enough tequila - No real view of the water

This dining experience was pretty decent, but would have certainly been overpriced if it weren't paid for on the dining plan. Service was good and friendly. The food was spiced OK, but certainly not the best Mexican I've had. Like others have said, have all involved check the menu for something they like before booking here. My wife and I shared the Parrillada "La Hacienda". It was pretty good, but I would have liked some spicier chorizo (which was much like the shape of cocktail hotdogs). Overall, I'd go here if you're on the dining plan, but not if I was with my family and paying full price

Good views and nice staff. After that, however, the worst Mexican I have ever had (and I eat Mexican all the time at home in Atlanta). Food was dry. Chips were stale. Water tasted very chlorinated. Margaritas were weak and sour. And finally, way overpriced for the quality of food. This is my first negative review on Yelp, but I felt obligated to leave it.

This has become one of our favorite spots in Epcot. It's fairly easy to get a reservation here (or even walk-up) due to its underrated reputation. The margaritas are delicious and paired well with the fresh tortilla chips and salsa. (the salsa is less chunky then what you'll find in a jar...tasty and a bit spicy) On the two occasions I dined here I had the shrimp tacos - delicious! The crunch of the fresh red cabbage gave the entree great texture! For dessert, I had the apple empanada which was a yummy Mexican take on apple pie. This paired nicely with caramel ice cream which came on the side. Our waitress on our last visit was one of the kindest cast members we've ever encountered...truly lovely! We enjoy eating here and enjoying the fireworks from the floor to ceiling windows. Even if you're back from the window a bit you'll be able to see fine and the music is piped in. For now it's our little secret magic place!

After a hectic day of visiting theme parks, it was a treat to find a sit down restaurant where we could relax and converse. Our party ordered the Queso Fundido and a selection of fruity margaritas to accompany our standard chips and salsa. We enjoyed a variety of entrees (taco trio, grilled chicken with pineapple salsa) that were well prepared and served by courteous waitstaff.

Typical Disney restaurant. And I don't mean that in a good way. I felt very rushed. The food was good enough and we enjoyed the margaritas. We went early. Had reservations and yet there was nothing relaxing about it. Just cows at the feed trough.

I was so excited to get to Epcot and could barely wait to get to Mexico to get some great Mexican food - Wish we'd gone elsewhere! Make sure you read the menu before you go in to ensure that there is something here for every person in your party. I took some clients to dinner here and one of them got very sick and the rest didn't want this food. It is not what one would expect for Mexican food. There were 5 of us in our party and we ordered chips and salsa and guacamole. The amount of guacamole they bring you is laughable! The chips were very stale and had no flavor. We ordered two of the seafood dishes for two and the shrimp was so incredibly hot - and I love spicy food - that it actually burned our mouths and our lips!! One of the gentlemen in our party got quite sick from it and right after the meal and had to leave Epcot to return to his hotel room! That made me feel incredibly bad since he was my guest. Even the waitress said that people had been complaining about how hot it was and that the cook must really love pepper! Well, if people were complaining wouldn't you think they would tone it down some?!?! The rest of the meal was just okay and I could tell my guests were trying to enjoy it but really weren't as they left half their meals on the plate! For a $195 dinner for 5 of us - I wish I had taken them somewhere else. I'm still crushed as these people were important, were becoming fast friends and we had been having a great time at the Walt Disney World Resort and Epcot prior to this meal. Let's just say the next time we saw them they were a bit cold towards us. I'm quite bummed and sure the boss may not be too happy about this!!

While at Epcot, my fella had a hankering for Mexican food. We thought it was a perfect opportunity to check out the Mexican Pavilion and see what they had to offer. We decided to share one of our Quick Service credits on a lunch. As we did for most of our ordering needs we decided on the most expensive option to optimize our dining plan. We shared a tacos plate, soda and popsicle for dessert. The tacos plate was enough for a small lunch to share. The food wasn't amazing and I honestly wished we had tried a different restaurant. It was pretty busy, so finding a seat was pretty difficult. We finally settled on a small table inside with a nice view overlooking the water. The service and view were worth the visit, but the food was lackluster at best. They're good for what they are, but I think I'll probably try another place next time I'm at Epcot.

Our trip to La Hacienda was the highlight of our day of Epcot. Highly recommend the Queso Fundido and Taquiza for starters, and Empanada de Manzana for a dessert. The only thing keeping me from rating it 5 stars is the price. Higher than it should be, but par for the course at Disney's parks and resorts.

I was disappointed with this restaurant in Epcot. Other than the queso appetizer, the food was just OK. The service was fine, but not stellar. We ordered the queso and then the La Hacienda platter to share as an entree--no alcoholic beverages--and spent $88! WAY OVERPRICED in my opinion. I think we would have enjoyed the outdoor casual Mexican restaurant literally 20 feet outside this place much more and saved $50!

This was some of the best Mexican food that I have eaten....ever. We went for lunch one day. The atmosphere was top notch. Very quiet with all the sights and smell that you have grown to love from the Mexico pavilion. The meal starts with some wonderful chips and salsa. The chips are made in house and the salsa selection is very tasty. This is the same salsa found at the San Angel Inn across the way. Very tasty. We both had the lunch special. It started with a bowl of the best tortilla soup that I have ever eaten. It was fresh with a great presentation. Fresh avocado, cheese, sour cream all in a bowl and then Topped with a flavorful broth. The next course was pork soft tacos with rice and beans. It was full of strong flavors that all went well together. Truly delicious. The dessert was flan and chocolate mousse, boy which were perfect. Overall, this place is fantastic. Yes, it is a little pricey, but I feel for a disney dining spot it is one of the best. I will definitely be going back to this place!

We had an absolutely fantastic meal here. Short ribs are to die for. Empanadas for dessert is also great. Service not very snappy, but a gorgeous view over the lagoon. Recommended.

I recently went here for dinner after a day of eating and drinking at epcot. If you are in the mood for authentic Mexican food this is the place to go. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and professional, he explained that this is the type of cuisine you could expect to eat in Mexico City and was very knowledgeable of the tequilas we tried. The Queso Fundido was not what I was expecting I thought it would be more like a queso cheese deep, it was basically melted cheese that was in a skillet, a little hard to get on a chip but still very good. I would recommend the "La Hacienda" for 2 it was delicious and was alot like upscale fajitas. it included perfectly cooked flank steak with chimichurri on top, grilled chicken breast, mini chorizo sausages, vegetables and corn. All the meats were perfect and an unexpected stand out was the corn, it had some kind of sauce on top and it was awesome. A couple tips, get a reservation the day before, they were booked the day went went and didn't except any walk ins. Our reservation at 7:45 which worked out perfect, we got a few drinks and appetizer and took our time so that we would still be eating during the firework show. This is a great place to watch the fireworks show, if you take your time eating you will be able to watch the show through the windows in the restaurant, they dim the lights during the show and play the music over the restaurant speakers. Overall I was impressed with the service, food, and was a great place to watch the fireworks show.

Reservations at 7 = finally seated at 7:45 15 minutes to get a drink (tea, no sweetener option delivered with tea) 20 minutes to get chips and salsa HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!

The food is good and the place has a nice view of the Epcot World Showcase Lagoon (where they do the fireworks at night), but the service is lacking, or at least it was for my husband and myself. We made our reservation months in advance with a request to get a table near the window so we could see the Reflections of Earth show at night. We reiterated this request when we arrived. Well, we did not get a table close to the window, although one opened up soon after we sat down. It would have been nice of them to ask us if we could wait a couple of extra minutes for an ideally situated table (which, again, we had requested well in advance), but that did not occur to them. Also, our waiter was very slow - took 20 minutes to get us drinks, and then 20 minutes to refill them. The place was kind of busy but not nearly busy enough to justify the wait. I've got to say that this was one bad spot in an otherwise positive experience with Disney dining. I would not recommend this place, nor will I come back on subsequent visits.

My girlfriend and I ate here on Christmas night while we visited Epcot. Since it was Epcot I really didn't have high expectations for dinner but this was easily the best meal we had on our entire trip to Orlando. We had the Del Mar (grilled shrimp, scallops, Mahi Mahi, veggies, beans & rice) and it was amazing. The fish was very fresh and the black beans were the best that I have had in a really long time. The portion was large (enough to feed 3 people) but the two of us managed to devour the entire helping.

We had an amazing time here. The food is sooo amazing. Family of four, shared two of the meals for two...for the life of me I can't remember what they are called. Got one which was meats and one which was fish. AMAZING. Already craving it. The corn that comes with it is even better, once you start eating it, you can't stop. The caramel apple empanadas are to die for as well. Our server was sweet and funny and sang to us for a birthday without us asking. What a lovely, clean, delicious experience!

Amazing food. We had an atole to start out with. It was so good, I didn't want it to end. I ended up ordering a coffee drink which was also goo tasting. My dinner meal was fish. They fish was perfect except for the sauce that came with it, I simply removed it and enjoyed the rest. I love the rice and bean sides that were brought to us. I could live of rice and beans. So tasty!

We ordered chicken tacos and shredded beef tacos. The food is yummy but does have a slight bit of spicy. If you don't eat spicy, then you'll feel it. We sat inside. There are windows lining the entire inside seating area with a beautiful view of the Epcot lake. The inside is adorned with star lamps. Very pretty. I imagine they must be gorgeous at night. We came for lunch. Overall a good spot for a quick bite of Mexican food.

Some of the other reviews mentioned getting a later reservation with a table by the window for a great view of the fireworks! I highly suggest that, it would be amazing. We had a bigger group and did get a table by the window, but not in time for the fireworks. We made our reservations months ahead of time, but had to accommodate a bigger group, so had to do it a bit earlier. We picked La Hacienda de San Angel to keep my Grandpa happy. He is a meat and potatoes kind of guy, but even more important to him, he does not like his meat and potatoes to mix. This can be a problem, and when left with the choice between La Hacienda de San Angel and the restaurant in France, we pretty much had to do Mexico. My grandpa was still mad. Turns out he is not a big fan of Mexican food. But my Grandma loves it and she was happy she could eat it without being the bad guy. La Hacienda de San Angel has very cool decor and the food was amazing. The service was also very good. My Dad and I really love chips and salsa. They first round of chips were not so fresh, but the next two rounds of chips were perfect. The salsa was pretty good, I have definitely had better. The spicy salsa was just about the right hotness for me, but I have some friends that would have called it weak. Nevertheless, it was too spicy for my grandparents and fiancee. Also the salsa could have had more variety than just two types, and even without out more variety, a little more fresh ingredient flavor would be nice. Overall I was still happy with the salsa. I shared the La Hacienda with my Dad. It is a two person meal. It was really really good. My dad was buying and he likes his steak medium. I like mine rare. I was a good sport and went along with the medium. Luckily, some of the steak still came out looking rare. Those thicker pieces were mine!!!! The chicken was so tender and juicy. The plate of food was HUGE!!! The vegetables, the beans, everything was really really good. My Mom just went with steak. My fiancee and Grandma went with the quesadillas. I cannot remember what my Grandpa got, but my brother and his girlfriend shared the La Hacienda (like I did with my Dad). My grandparents drank wine. My mom did not want to drink any alcohol after having her fair share of samples around the World. I had a margarita. It was very good, not too strong, but strong enough. My fiancee got the frozen margarita. She really liked hers, but it was strong enough to give her a bit of a head ache. Rather than get margaritas, my brother and his girlfriend got shots of tequila. Our waiter was very knowledgeable at explaining the tequila shots. Everyone was very full on food and tequila by the time we left. We were very happy with our meal. It was a bit pricey, but everything at Disney is. I have had better Mexican food, but I was still really impressed with how good of a job they did at La Hacienda de San Angel!

Fantastic. A true wonderful rendition of Mexican cuisine from around the whole of a great culinary nation. For those who subscribe to the thought that mexican food is simply the same ingredients presented in a different way then I cant help you. But San Angel can! Try this relaxing atmosphere in the swirl of the busiest palce on earth. Allow these wonderful folks to take you on a trip through their culture via your taste buds. None of the dense, pedestrian over cheesed junk you find in your locals. Rather a lightness, concetration on ingredients and flavor are the focus here. Go. Enjoy. This is Epcot Mexico...2.0

I'm only giving 2 stars because the food was good and so were the drinks.... But wow..... The service, or the lack thereof, was HORRIBLE!! We had made reservations months in advance for a friends birthday for 8 people. My friend (the birthday girl) got there with 3 other people and had to wait for the rest of the party to arrive before being able to get a table, which I totally understand, but by the time the rest of the party arrived, which was me and 3 others, still on time for the reservation, the hostess was SUPER RUDE with a major attitude and told us we had to wait and go back in line. Umm no.... We had half of our party check in before the reservation time and the rest of the party at time of reservation and the hostess pretty much gave us a horrible attitude and said "mi hija, go wait in line". By this time we asked for a manager.... HE WAS WORSE THAN THE HOSTESS!!! My goodness! These people were SO RUDE!! We eat at Disney restaurants ALL THE TIME and have never experienced such horrendous service! It was over 30min past our reservation time before they got us seated. And to top things off.... The waiter was super rude too!!!! Mind you, we didn't even raise our voices to these people while all this was happening... I feel like they told each other to treat us badly. Our drinks and food took FOREVER, and the waiter pretty much just threw the check on the table... Horrible horrible experience! Definitely not going back. There are TONS of better restaurants at Epcot...

Incredibly disappointed with our dinner. We had a dinner reservation early in the evening thinking that the service would be attentive. Wrong. Service was slow and Unfriendly with our family. And the food was not good...especially for the price. Small portions on the food. And the meals were not appetizing at all ...highly disappointing. Needless to say, we will not make this choice again.

An absolutely amazing experience here. Everyone's food was incredible at our table. My chicken the pollo al pastor was tender, juicy, and delicious. An excellent combination of sweet and spicy. Service was good, server was very friendly and the food came fast. Easily one of the best meals in all of Walt Disney World. Go here!

I was really in the mood for fajitas, but because the only fajita meal was for 2 people at $55, I passed and decided to try the tilapia at $25. I don't know if it was prepared in a Mexican style, all I know was the sauce was paired perfectly with the tilapia. I also had the Mango Blueberry margarita($13) which was awesome. I usually don't like sweet drinks like this one, but I am glad I decided to try something different. You also get chips and salsas, which is something you don't get at Paradiso 57 in Downtown Disney. The menu is a little limited, so picky eaters might have a difficult time finding something to eat. This place is very expensive for a Mexican restaurant, but any sit down table restaurant is going to be expensive in Epcot. I'll be returning.

We had already had our meal when we stumbled upon La Hacienda in the Mexico Pavillion in Epcot. After a quick look at the menu we had to give it a try. The restaurant is very beautiful, one of the nicests in Epcot for sure. The decor is very modern and authentic. Service is excellent. You fell the warmth of the Mexican people. We felt at home. We had a bean soup, sopa de frijoles, that was delicious. Reminded me of the sopa my mom made for us back in Mexico. We had a taquiza to try three different tacos. It was great too. The salsa was good. Queso fundido was quite tasty. The taco plate for kids came with authentic Mexican rice, which was very very good. We had to try the Vanilla Ice Cream and Churro. The Ice Cream was authentic Mexican Vanilla with Cajeta, Mexican Caramel. The churro was not really a churro but a bunuelo. Very tasty anyway. It is somewhat pricey but not beyond what you expect for a sit down restaurant inside Epcot. In short, highly recommended authentic intertior Mexican food!!

We ate here two nights ago and came away disappointed. It was too pricey for their offering, but it is in Epcot, so we knew to expect that. And maybe I'm not very familiar with true Mexican dishes, but none of the entrees were what I was hoping for. They did have fajitas for two, but it was $50 or $60. The appetizers include familiar Mexican dishes, so my kids had those. I ended up with a pork roast, which is not what I expected to get at a Mexican place, but it was pretty good. We got a cheesy appetizer that came with tortillas. This was good, but it came with three tortillas, and there were four of us (plus plenty of cheese for at least two each). We had to ask for more tortillas. Why do I have to do that? You know we want at least four...at least one each, right?

I would def give the food 5 stars but the service sucked..they stuck us in a corner and we got our appetizers before we got our drinks (and he forgot one entirely )..the food was great..def get an appetizer cuz the entrees are very small proportioned especially the short rib which was really good just really small ..this is NOT a typical American "tex-mex" there are no dips or enchiladas or burritos..just know that going in cuz I def didn't

I came here during the "soft" opening which was months ago. Yes yes, I'm a little slow on my reviews but better late than never right? When you go somewhere for a soft opening, there are generally issues as they are working out all the specifics. First, we came here and waited all of 5 minutes for a table. We were originally told that it would be a 30 minute way so it was a surprise to only having to wait 5 minutes and getting a booth in the main dining room. Second, since this restaurant was brand new, the place was clean! Third, the service was great. Our waitress was really friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. Fourth, the food was pretty good. I split the La Hacienda with my brother (basically a variety platter), chips and salsa and a churro for desert. I even had the classic margarita. Everything was very tasty and fresh! Fifth, the view was awesome! We were able to watch the illuminations show while being comfortable in our booth. They even pipe in the music so that you feel like you're outside. I would definitely recommend that you try this place out. From what I've read on more recent reviews, I think you have to make reservations as the secret is out!

First time eating here since it opened and we enjoyed it a lot! Definitely better than the San Angel Inn across the way. Service seemed friendlier and food seemed more authentic and not as pretentious. When we sat down, we were brought chips and salsa. The salsa was pretty bland and reminded me of tomato sauce. Not a huge fan. Started with margaritas (how could you not?!) and if you read my La Cava de Tequila review, maybe you'll remember that I like spicy drinks. I decided to be very adventurous and order the Orange Mango Fire margarita - tequila, ginger liquor, orange juice, mango, lime juice, hint of Tabasco sauce, and a chili powder rim. WOAH heat! This was delicious though! First you taste the fruit and then the heat starts to kick in. Definitely not a drink to chug but I thoroughly enjoyed it throughout the whole meal. Since there were a good number of us, we were able to try a decent portion of the menu. For appetizers we had the Taquiza taco trio - rib eye, chicken, and pork tacos. My favorite was definitely the pork, followed by the rib eye. We also had the Botana - sampler of tostadas, pork, & cheese empanadas. My favorite was the pork. Everything was cooked well and seasoned well. Disney has a tendency to 'Americanize' things and go easy on the spices and these made me happy. For entrees, we all chose something different. I had the pork mole and really enjoyed it. The pork was slightly dry but the mole sauce was delicious. The vegetables were also perfectly cooked and went well with everything. Friends had the chicken, the beef, and the cheese empanadas (vegetarian options). One thing we found out...even though the rice is on the vegetarian menu, it's made with chicken stock. Hm, interesting. The side dishes (beans, corn, rice, guac) were all delicious and well made. We were so full from our meals but we agreed that we needed to try some desserts. We decided on the Tamal del Dulce (tamale with guava) and the Empanada de Manzana (apple empanada). Both were very good but I think I liked the Tamal better. It was definitely different but had a nice flavor. We also got a chance to watch Illuminations from the restaurant. Unfortunately though we were in one of the side rooms so we all had to crowd around a tiny window and peek through the trees. It was still cool to see though. Will definitely be back!

Arrived a little early for dinner, yet easily seated ahead of our reservation time. Good size menu with plenty of authentic selections. Service was very hospitable, and on top of everything throughout, thanks Vinicio. Tried the Ensalada de la Hacienda (House Salad), Queso Fundido, Pescado a la Talla (fish), and the Crema de Chocolate for dessert. Salad was very pleasing, a nice mix of spinach, avocado, pomegranate, nuts, and tasty vinaigrette. Queso fundido was the oily heart attack you've come to grow and love. Topped with chorizo and peppers, it was one of the best I've ever had (after draining away some excess oils). The fish was a bit runny, but well seasoned and much bigger than I expected. Super filling too after being married with well seasoned and sauteed vegetables, and sides of rice and black beans.... which were excellent btw. Black beans seem more of a rarity, but I assuredly would choose them before pinto. Rice was exactly spot on. After all of that, dessert managed to win out over all. The chocolate custard was just what I needed to wake me up from my food coma (literally, sleeping at the table). Rich and decadent, worthy of any king's menu. A pricy dinner, but well worth it. When we come back, it will be on our reservations list.

Me- "Can I please have a horchata" Esmeralda- "Oh no! We stopped carrying it last week because nobody ever ordered it" Me-"Um, how can that be?" Esmeralda- "I thought the same thing. Nobody ever asked for it so we took it off the menu" Me- "That's heartbreaking" How in the world can a Mexican restaurant not serve either horchata or any aguas frescas, like Tamarind or Jamaica? Thank goodness the food here was good otherwise, I was going to bash this place. La Hacienda de San Angel, which is located in the Mexico section of EPCOT'S World Showcase, is a brightly lit, beautifully decorated restaurant. The inside has many windows which boast beautiful views of EPCOT'S large lake. The menu here is somewhat small but everything sounded and looked delicious. As always, to start we were given complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were warm, crispy and had the right amount of salt. The salsa was OK, nothing special. Instead of chunky salsa, they give you two types of dipping sauces (green & chipotle). After devouring the chips we order two appetizers. The first was their Queso Fundido, which is melted cheese topped with poblano peppers and chorizo. They also give you homemade flour tortillas with this app. The second appetizer we ordered was the Botana, which is a sampling of mini Mexican favorites. This app included a chicken tostado, Chilorio sope (marinated pork), and a cheese empanada. Both the appetizers we ordered were delicious. For dinner my wife and I decided to split there famous La Hacienda platter, which is a huge cast iron plate full of tasty Mexican grub. This is all that came with this platter; Chicken al pastor Carne Asada Chorizo Veggies Corn Beans Rice Homemade Corn Tortillas Everything that came on this massive platter was amazing, especially the mini chorizo links and the corn, which was topped with cheese and chipotle sauce. For dessert, because we were visiting for our honeymoon, we were given a free scoop of their homemade Dulce de leche ice cream and some mini churros. Both things that came with this dessert were super sweet and tasty, a perfect way to end an almost perfect meal (why couldn't they have Horchata). Esmeralda, our server for the evening, was super sweet and attentive. She always made sure our drinks were never half full and answered any questions we had about their menu. The prices here weren't bad either. If you like Mexican food and happen to be at EPCOT, head over to Mexico and get some dinner at La Hacienda de San Angel. Maybe the next time I go they will have Horchata back on their menu. If that happens, this place will be upgraded to 5 stars for sure.

The location is wonderful....right on the water in the world showcase, EPCOT. This would be a prime fireworks viewing location! The food was amazing. We all had different things and everything was fresh and flavorful. The service, however, was disappointing. This is the only sit-down restaurant in Walt Disney World where we had to call out for our meals...who had the steak? I hate that! Don't let the service scare you away, though. The food is worth it, and the drinks!

Great view of the epcot fireworks if you time it right. I would get a reservation for 8 pm, you can ask for window but first come first served. Don't fear as if you don't get a good seat the help is good about letting your little ones get a spot to view during the show. Order combo chicken steak meal. Everything was excellent they seemed to.go above and beyond here to make your family happy. I wasn't expecting much but the manager came to our table and helped us get kid friendly food as the menu was more adult and afterwards he even bought both my wife and myself a drink from the bar during the fireworks. I wasn't a believer in the Disney magical experience but this place had it when we were there. The servers and managers just seemed to have that extra smile or we are here to not only server you but enjoy the experience with you. I feel bad I cant give a name shout out to the manager that helped us but we will come back here every year. This is not on the Disney quick service plan.

Best dinner in Disney World. It was my teenage daughter's birthday. She is a foodie and she recommended this place. They sat us directly in front of the windows and the illuminations fireworks were a perfect finish to a super dinner. Authentic, fresh Mexican. My husband and I shared the steak & chicken platter, my 2 daughters had scrumptious shrimp tacos, and my other daughter and mom said the tilapia was to die for. We had reservations & 7:30 (resv. are a must) and finished up with dessert right around the start of fireworks. Perfect timing. They even brought Mexican ice cream with a candle for my daughter's birthday. Beware though: they automatically add a tip to the bill for parties of 6 or more. We didn't notice that fact and added another tip. The waitress was WELL compensated for her good service.

New digs right on the water. OK, so the view is stunning, although I kind of liked the restaurant INSIDE with the cute fake view. I know.. silly right? The food is better than before, service amazing as everywhere in Disney. Prices, well much better than at the other sit down restaurants inside EPCOT for sure. Food? I liked the 5 star Tacos Chilorio and Tamales in the Food and Wine festival FAR better than the tostadas I got here. My hubby's food was good but not great either. We actually tried it out after walking all over, eating our lunch in the festival and loving the Mexican fare so much we figured it would be more of the same deliciousness, it really wasn't. Mind you, it was GOOD just not great. If you are going to eat at EPCOT it is definitely an option, the view is worth it.

Just a quick update to La Hacienda.... went for a nice early Valentines Day dinner Saturday and everything was great except.... We did not get the 'main' dinning room which about 98% of the tables are in. We were put in a small windowless room off to the left just after you come in. I almost felt like I was not allowed in the big kids room anymore... The small room was noisy due to its size. Loud kids and flatware dropping on the floor sounded like explosions! It was okay but I would have liked to be in the main room for the view as well as not so much noise. Also, for the first time, the Disney servers seemed in a rush or confused. I overheard a couple next to us send food back to due it being cold... another table had the wrong order brought to them... Once lady did not like the food. And then once we got our appetizers brought to the table, we were talking to the Tequila expert and they tried to bring our main dishes out! Wait a min... I know they want to turn tables fast but that was silly! Even if they wanted to bring it to us, there was no room on the table! I looked at the man with all this food and told him that we have not even started eating our appetizers yet... and before I could say more, he apologized a zillion times and took the food away. The manager came to the table to apologize also and said fresh dishes would be created and brought out at the correct time.... the kitchen made a mistake and did not see we had appetizers before our main meal. All was good but it just threw us off that it happened. In over 20+ years of eating at Disney parks, that was a first. The first time we went, everything was excellent and I gave it 5 stars but today I will take off one star due to the challenges they seem to be having not only with us but with many other tables around us. Has the newness worn off? Are they getting sloppy? We will definitely go back and give it another whirl to see if they just had an 'off' night. Otherwise, I like La Hacienda very much! Just make sure you make a priority seating before hand because walk ups just don't happen! Enjoy!

Our last day at Disney brought us to La Hacienda de San Angel. I would consider this a more upscale Mexican restaurant. There are no burritos, enchiladas or nachos on THIS menu! The atmosphere is very light and airy. There is interesting artwork and decorative lighting to look at. (Not too over the top Mexican themed.) It has a more rustic contemporary feel. It felt great to sit down and get out of the 93° heat! The kids spotted Queso Fundido on the menu and immediately asked to put in an order for our starter. It was melty cheesy goodness topped with chorizo and served with flour tortillas. I thought the chorizo could have been spicier but the rest of the fam LOVED it! I was not extremely hungry and went for the Taquiza starter for my entree. A trio of smallish tacos was presented each with a different meat. One marinated pork, one beef, one roasted chicken. They were good but could have been warmer. I also went for the Lime Raspberry margarita. Now THAT was yummy! Good and strong! The kids ordered black bean soup which were each poured from a mini-pitcher into a bowl containing queso fresco and cream. Nice presentation and the kids ate every drop. My husband ordered Roasted Pork Tenderloin with Mole Negro sauce. He said it was superb. We were all too full for dessert but managed a quick ride on the Maelstrom in Norway before going back :)

My favorite of the dining we visited in Epcot... while waiting for our table we boated through the streets of Mexico on the water ride, guided by (a mostly digital) Donald Duck and the other two Amigos. The wait was about 20 minutes, and when our buzzer went off, we were walked to a table inside the bustling, colorful restaurant. I started with the queso fundido, which I didn't care for... the chorizo wasn't high quality or quantity, and the cheese was a little too done. But my entree, I loved! I was a little boring and opted for the Tacos de Camarones; thought they were outstanding... delicately breaded fried shrimp and a pizzazz-y chipotle-lime sauce. The meal arrived nearly an hour after our order, which felt excessive to me. But at least there's quite a broad margarita menu to keep you entertained, should that happen!

Disappointing. What was supposed to be the 'special' dinner of our vacation was really average. Our server was obviously overwhelmed from the moment we got there. She apologized for the long wait and said she was finally ready to take our order although we had only been seated for moments. When we explained we had just been seated she left for ten minutes before returning with the wrong drink order. No drink screw ups after that though as we were not offered any refills! The entrees came out insanely fast, but the chorizo appetizer I ordered never came at all. Apparently she forgot to put the order in. We had the Del Mar (seafood fajitas for two), which were flavorless and plentiful. Except for the tiny tortillas that is, which the Hacienda absurdly allocates three at a time. For a meal designed for two people! Given the price of the meal the entire experience would have been a bust except for the view of the Epcot lagoon, which was spectacular.

We went here for a late lunch while at Epcot because of the good reviews it had. I'd say the food was subpar at best. I can see how the view would be great during the Illuminations show but the shades were down due to the sunlight when we were there. We had the queso fundido and gorditas apps. The gorditas were very small and bland. The queso fundido had good cheese but not much flavor. The peppers added no kick. We opted not to get an entree and helped the little guy finish his grilled chicken. The chicken from the kids menu actually had the most flavor of anything on the table. The salsa was also bland. I give it three stars because the margaritas were good, although crazy pricey. I recommend having your epcot meal elsewhere if you don't get reservations during illuminations.

I'm not quite sure where to begin with this review because everything at this new restaurant was spectacular! We stopped by here because the Mexico Pavilion has always been my favorite, and therefore, any new additions to it are always exciting. I didn't think anything could top La Cava del Tequila, the new tequila bar actually inside the main building ( yelp.com/biz/la-cava-del… ), but I was wrong. Whoever is the managing director of the Mexico Pavilion should get a raise! The food at La Hacienda de San Angel was absolutely delicious. We started out with a Rosita margarita and the Orange Mango Fire margarita. Are you kidding me? Not only where these two drinks probably the best looking drinks I've ever been served (the Rosita came with an actual rose petal!), the flavors were like fireworks in my mouth. You think I'm exaggerating but I'm not. That's what I actually said to my wife. For our meal we ordered the Taquiza for a starter and the Parrillada Del Mar (for two). Oh my goodness. I really am not sure if I've had better Mexican food. Everything was cooked perfectly, seasoned to perfection, and just downright incredible. Oh, they also serve complimentary chips and salsa while you wait. To go along with outstanding food and drink, the service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was second-to-none. The only draw back to this restaurant is the price. Our two drinks, starter, and main course came to over $100 with tip. So, you'll have to decide if it works for your budget. But if you can squeeze it in, it is absolutely worth it. I am a better person today for having eaten here last night. If you can't quite make La Hacienda work in your budget, then head over to La Cantina de San Angel, the quick service restaurant next door. Not only do these two venues share a building, but they also share menu items. Check out my review: yelp.com/biz/la-cantina-…

Get a reservation around 7:45pm -8:15pm and ask for window seating. That way, by 9pm you are done your delicious dinner and are sipping on your alcoholic beverage of choice watching the beautiful fireworks display front and center. My boyfriend and I were seated right in front of fireworks and the feeling is indescribable. We had a fantastic dinner - the server was so sweet and attentive, the food was delicious, and the cocktails were strong but not overpowering. We finished 20 mins before the fireworks and ordered dessert. Our waitress knew we were waiting for the fireworks so she cleared our table and made sure we had a drink at hand right before the beginning of the show. Perfection!

We ate at La Hacienda de San Angel after a long day of eating at the Food and Wine festival, so we weren't too hungry but just needed to eat "dinner". Unfortunately, our waiter was a little pushy and tried to get us to order more, so that was kind of awkward. I had a chance to try roasted chiles with chorizo (yum!), the taco trio (just okay), and the mixed grill with steak and veggies (really good). We also shared the guava tamale, churros and apple empanada, all of which were delicious. The table we sat at had a really nice view of the water/World Showcase. It would probably be good to sit there during Illuminations. Although the food was good, it was not outstanding. And for the high price, we probably wouldn't return here.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
